About a week ago, I shared a snippet from my personal practice on instagram. My favorite style of yoga to practice is this flowy dance-type that I do. I don't use a mat because I move a lot around the room, and I don't plan anything out in advance, I just do what feels good. I received a lot of requests to turn it into a tutorial so here you go. You'll have to forgive me because I was still pretty sick while filming this (I'm only just now at the tail end of this brutal cold). I don't think this is something I'll do too often, just because my personal practice is play for me. It's a release and a way I unwind, so I don't want it to turn into something I need to start thinking about in terms of work, but maybe I'll do it every now and then if I come up with something really cool and creative that might be fun for you guys to try.
This sequence is somewhat advanced, I'd say. If you're planning on giving it a try, be sure to warm up big time. You'll want particular openness in the hips, chest, and shoulders. It goes like this:
funky side plank
flip to wild thing
full wheel pose variation
three leg dog
funky pigeon variation
half frog
supine hamstring stretch
navasana variation
Hope you enjoy!
