I'm often asked for poses to practice once crow pose has arrived. Generally, the questions come from people who have newly transitioned from beginner to intermediate student and they have the strength and confidence to play around, but just aren't really sure where to begin. If this sounds like you, grasshopper might be the perfect pose to start with.
Grasshopper requires a ton of flexibility in the torso and hips, so having a strong hip opening practice, and being very familiar with poses like supine spinal twist are key. And if grasshopper pose isn't coming to you, give baby grasshopper a try.
