There are certain poses in the practice that just make me feel so happy and wild thing is one of them. It just feels so good in my body when I practice this pose. I love the fact that it incorporates a heart opening backbend with expansion from the fingers to the toes. It's for sure a current favorite of mine. But it hasn't always been.
See, I'd been practicing it wrong. I was stacking my shoulder over my wrist, thereby crunching the shoulder and now allowing myself any movement or openness, so watch that because it's the biggest mistake I see.
Once you feel comfortable in this pose you can play around and incorporate it into your vinyasas after downward facing dog. Or, ditch your yoga mat and come up with something a little more playful like the sequence I showed on instagram a few weeks back.
Give the pose a try and let me know how it goes down in the comments below.
