If you follow along on instagram, you know that last week, after literally years of working on this pose, my feet touched my hair! Not my head, but my hair - but still progress! The journey continues as I'll aim to have the head and toes touch, but so far I've learned a lot along the way and am really enjoying this process.
Today, I wanted to take a quick look back at the progression. This video below was shot in November of 2013, nearly two years ago. You can see how super shaky I was - both a combination of lack of strength and lack of flexibility.
Three months later, I was a bit more stable, but the flexibility wasn't quite there. Here's my first scorpion pose progress post and my second progress post update.
And then, exactly a year later, you can see I'm really stable and have the stamina to combine the pose into my vinyasa practice. The flexibility isn't quite there but I'm feeling strong and confident with it. Here's my next update.
A month later, in Miami at our Spring Break Retreat, I practiced by the pool. Still feeling strong and I think the heat made me more flexible than usual.
Two months later and SO close in Greece at our Sifnos retreat.
And three months later, touched my hair! I feel like it's just a matter of time until I can touch my head, but until then I'll be wearing this big ol' smile!
