I leave for my book tour this weekend. We have a media day on Monday and then the first book signing in NYC (be sure to sign up!). From there, we head to Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and Connecticut. I'll also be leading Namaslay themed yoga workshops in a number of those cities, so I hope to meet many of you on the mat!
In regards to the book, it's something I am so proud of. It's beautiful. Everything from feel of the cover, to the thickness of each page, to the quality of the photos just makes me so happy. And at over 400 pages, there is a lot of content. A lot. There is so much I wanted to pack into Namaslay, that when I stepped back, I thought it might make sense to make a little reveal video of what's actually inside the book. In the video below, you'll see that not only did I weave my own personal story of struggle and triumph throughout the book, but I also broke down yoga poses for beginners, intermediate students and advanced practitioners in my signature cut-out style. At the end of each section there are sequences that use the poses described in the previous chapter, and at the end of the book is a restorative section that explains all the different ways you can use props for yin yoga. And then at the very end of the book, there are thirty day sequences and complementary practices you can follow along to if you're not up for creating your own sequences.
Writing a book is one thing, but getting the word out it is an entirely different animal. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about it. Between myself, the publishing house and the PR girl, we're doing our best to spread the word, but we would be so grateful for your help. If you'd be so kind as to share on your social media, send this post to a friend via email, or post about it on your blog, I would be tremendously grateful. And, just for sharing and clicking here, you'll be entered to win our giveaway for a trip to Los Angeles to practice with me.
Thank you so much for your support over the years. I am so excited (and so nervous!) for this next chapter, and I can't wait to meet you guys in person at a signing or workshop soon!
