Today we're back with another Acro Yoga video. This is part three in the series, so if you're new to Acro Yoga or you'd like a little refresher, check out part 1 and part 2 first. In today's video we're learning fallen leaf pose.
The flyer will step up toward the base until the base can touch the flyer's toes with their hands. From there, the base will lift their legs and place the feet on the flyer's hip crease. The flyer will put their hands on the tops of the base's shins and lean in as the base receives the flyer by bending the knees. The base will straighten the legs to lift the flyer up and the flyer can hang heavy in the upper body and bring the legs parallel to the floor as the base intends to bring the hips, knees and feet in one long line (this may be challenging if the base has tight hamstrings).
Once steady here, the flyer can take prayer pose behind the head. The base can put one hand on the shoulder and the other hand on the opposite tricep to set up for a spinal twist. Go slowly and breathe fully in the twist before taking it over to the other side.
To come out of the pose, just release the same way you went in - the flyer's hands go to the shins, the base bends the knees, and the flyer's feet come down. Hope you love it!
