I don’t own a ton of a clothes, and I like it that way. Overall, in the last few years, my sartorial philosophy has been: if I haven’t worn it in the last year, I don’t want it in my house. I like the idea of having less, but truly loving the clothing I do have - make sense? So every time a new season rolls around, I go through my stuff, hand a lot down to my cousins, donate a bunch, and consign some of the higher end items. It feels so good to weed out the old stuff and bring in the things I love.
And this is where I introduce the jumpsuit I just cannot get over. I love a good jumpsuit for so many reasons:
they’re so easy - no need to think about a top and a bottom because you get a two for one deal with a jumpsuit
they’re comfortable yet you always look put together
with the swap of shoes and some accessories, you can usually change up the whole vibe from casual to dressy.
Jumpsuit Options: Look for less, and even less here and here.
I found this jumpsuit at Free People earlier this month and scooped it up right away. I’m barely 5’1, so I wasn’t sure the Small would fit due to length, but I found the jumpsuit actually runs small. I’d normally be an XS, but in this particular jumpsuit the S fit perfectly, so I would suggest sizing up one size. Belted with a pair of booties, it wears a little dressier and perfect for going out to eat. I love how casual it feels with the rolled sleeves and pockets (!!!), but I love that the booties dress it up.
I wore a simple black bralette from F21 (RIP, they’re going out of sale, end of an era, here’s a similar one) underneath and accessorized with this necklace which I basically never take off. While I went with black boots and accessories, I think this jumpsuit would also look so good with honey colored accessories and shoes.
Get the look: Necklace option for $25.
While the sales staff at Free People recommended a wide waist belt, I chose a thin Isabel Marant x H&M one (similar luxury, similar under $50) that I have had for years. I had a wider belt, but it just looked funky to me, maybe because of my height? I was just more into the thinner belt with the jumpsuit.
I got these booties (similar under $100) a year or two ago, and I’m glad I bought them. I got them during a friends and family sale, which is when I try to do bigger purchases because you know I love a good deal. The booties have been a fall staple ever since and they are so, so comfortable. Another perk is that go with everything from jeans to jumpsuits to joggers.
Are you into jumpsuits? Would you rock this one?
