Yeah, thirty! You're here! Thank goodness, because while my twenties have been great, they haven't been without their challenges (like this and this) and I'm ready for the next chapter.
I had a really nice birthday weekend doing all the things I love: teaching and practicing yoga, catching up on my shows (the new season of House of Cards!), reading, watching a movie marathon (Dallas Buyers Club was the best I saw this weekend), and catching up with friends and family via Skype.
From above: 1 & 2. Valentine's day brought a surprise trip to the spa! Prior to January I haven't had a massage since the Great Anxiety Takeover of 2003. I know how beneficial they are to the body (very detoxing), so it was nice to be pampered with a couples' massage.
3. Card from my mama. I miss her so much!
4. Flowers from my yoga students (totally teared up when they sang happy birthday to me)
5. Birthday breakfast - GAPS pancakes! Made from: 3 eggs, 1T almond butter (homemade recipe), 1 very ripe banana - blend in a high powered blender (I use a vitamix), and fry in ghee (or butter or coconut oil) for 2-3 minutes each side.
6. Carrot cake loaf (recipe coming)
7. Favorite things - the new yoga journal magazine, essie mint candy apple nail polish, and my favorite tea.
How was your weekend?
PS- Last year's birthday, and the awesome retreat I'm leading in Ibiza (that you're invited to!)
