If you’ve been following along to our 30 Day Namaslay® Meditation Program on the YBC® App, you know we are nearly finished but don’t worry - if you’re late to the game, you can still start today!
In today’s meditation practice, we are learning about Vicara Meditation. Vicara (pronounced vick-ah-rah) Meditation is really powerful for finding the answers to big picture questions. It’s pretty different from most people’s conceptions of meditation because it actually involves a good bit of thinking. For this reason, it’s also known as an Analytical Meditation.
Here’s how to do it:
Sit comfortably still and allow your mind to calm down through a few deep breaths.
When you are calm, ask an open ended question like: Who am I? Or What is love? Or How much effort does it take to be aware?
Wait for a physical and narrative response from yourself. Don’t necessarily rely on the verbal narrative in your mind. Instead, wait for a receptive, curious, open response from yourself.
After a while, ask the question again.
Repeat.
This is a pretty advanced style of meditation, so be patient and come back to this style frequently. Give it a try and let us know how it goes for you down in the comments section below.
