If you read my last post, you would know that I try to make my life as simple as possible. We deal with enough stress in our day, we don’t need to create more. For me, food is a huge stressor. I do not like preparing meals. I am not a foodie, nor am I a chef. I just want to eat. I want to eat as easily as possible. I do not like cooking, cleaning, going to the grocery store, meal prepping, or anything food related. I only want to eat food when I am hungry, that’s it. Candace knows this about me, so she got me the best gift ever. For Valentine’s Day, she ordered a few weeks of prepare lunches and dinners. We are both trying to clean up our diets, so she went with the Trifecta Meal System. There are many meal prep services out there, some send you ingredients, some send meals that need to be cooked, Trifecta sends you fully cooked meals ready to go.
After a full week of meals, I can say that it is a win. As a teacher, it is great to have lunch with you each day. When I don’t have a lunch, I usually have to go out to a deli and grab something quick. By having a lunch with me, it frees up a lot of time and just makes the day easier. I have a microwave in my room and these meals are easy to prepare. Each meal is keto (Candace went with the keto plan), yet they offer different varieties of meal plans. It is mostly chicken and veggies. They have a few fish meals and some red meat. If you are looking for gourmet style meals, then look elsewhere. These meals are designed to be quick, healthy, simply tasty enough, and easy to reheat. Trifecta will source from local farms when possible and they use only organic ingredients, grass-fed meat and wild seafood.
The meals are fully cooked, they have lots of flavor and are good for up to 10 days in the fridge, of 6 months in the freezer. I am pretty satisfied with the service. I do not know if I would keep it long term, only because they’re a little pricey, but lately I have been busy with work and tutoring and these have saved a lot of time. Some days I am out the door at 5am and I don’t get home till around 7pm. Knowing I have a quick, healthy meal waiting for me really helps. I hate cooking after a long day of work. Yes, meal plans like this are pricey, but in my opinion, they are worth it when you need to sift out some of the stress in your life.
Do you use any meal prep services? What do you think of them? Let me know.
