As we continue to do our part to stay home, I’ve been thinking about what the future might hold. As noted on the Namaslay® Podcast my boyfriend has a bit of OCD, and this whole thing has really triggered him. We’ve been talking about how life may resume (or not!) to normal after COVID-19 has passed. We are seriously social distancing. Like, to the point where we’ll cross the street while walking the dog, if someone else is walking down the same side of the road. Admittedly, it’s a little extreme, but it’s for Dan’s OCD really.
Anyway, now that serious social distancing has become our norm, we were talking about how it might take us a while to get back into a regular gym. That is, even if we were all cleared to go back to life as usual, I think we’d still be pretty hesitant. So we’ve decided that we’ll stick to at-home workouts for at least the near future.
Here are the home gym essentials I’d recommend until you’re comfortable getting back into the gym. This all adds up to just under $100.
10lb Ankle Weights, $20.78
Resistance Bands, $17.85 - You can use these so many ways. See the resistance band workout below.
Sliders, $15.95
Cork Yoga Blocks, $27.99
Long Loop Resistance Band, $16.99 - See the curl and press move you can do below.
Glutes, Hamstrings, Triceps and Back with the short bands
Curl and Press for biceps and shoulders, and rotator cuff work with the Long Loop
Core and chest with sliders.
Total body workout with blocks (and you could use ankle weights with this, too)
