PSA: Don't forget! You can now download the YBC Official App, where you will have access to all our videos and there is an in-app subscription service where you can download exclusive content not found anywhere else. You'll be able to use those vids any time you don't have internet access! If you download the app and have a second to review it in the App Store, I'd be so thankful! Also, our Costa Rica jungle yoga retreat is happening in November and I'd love to meet ya on the mat!
Whew, I'm so glad it's Friday. This week has flown by, but in one of those can't-keep-up-please-hold-on-a-second ways that leaves you feeling sort of flustered. Since I'm really trying to keep my stress levels low, this is not ideal, so I'm looking forward to a full day off tomorrow. I'll be catching up with an old friend for breakfast, heading over to the gym afterwards, and then maybe taking the pup for a hike if it's not too hot.
Here's what's been going on in my life off the mat.
Reading Lately
A sweet friend sent me The Good Gut after seeing it was on my To Read list from our weekend newsletter.

Another book I'm reading is called The Growth Mindset which my husband Greg recommended after his new boss recommended it to him. I'm just getting into both, and will let you know what I think when I'm finished.
Work Lately
Some really exciting things are happening over here! Namely:
- We're in the preliminary stages of discussing a YBC book (eeee!)
- I went into NYC yesterday to meet with my web developer. We are going to be addressing the slow load time and complaints we've been getting about people being kicked off the site randomly. We're also going to design a new layout that will be more user-friendly.
- I filmed a really exciting project that I hope to introduce in September!
- Our subscription boxes were lovingly filled by my mom and me this past weekend. My MIL will help me with the shipping labels and they'll be going out in the mail on Monday! I can't wait for you to receive them!
You can help me in the following way:
Let me know in the comments below if you have seen slow load time for the site, and whether you were using a computer or mobile device. If you were using a computer, what browser (and version, if you know it) were you using? If you were 'kicked out' - what were you looking at when you were kicked out (homepage or particular blog post) and where did it kick you out to?
Discovered lately
While in NYC yesterday, I stopped in to the Indie Beauty Expo to meet with businesses in the beauty industry. I focused on the small companies because I love supporting them the most, and found so many great ones I'd never heard of (including Bottega Organica, Nugg and more) who use natural ingredients in their products. I am hoping to get them on board for our subscription boxes in the future. Oh snap, did I just give you early access to the YBC Mantra Boxes? Yep, I did.
Listening to lately
Just discovered La Gozadera, and the Latina in me (Ecuadorian) is so happy when I hear it! It also gets me so psyched for our Costa Rica jungle yoga retreat in November!
Mid-Year Resolution Check-in
After needing to take some time off from work to get my s#!t together, I came back with some mid-year resolutions that included taking care of myself and keeping my stress levels in check so my health wouldn't decline. I've started working with a GAPS practitioner who has been a tremendous resource as I continue to heal. The stress is a monster, and it's weird - sometimes I don't feel particularly stressed out but I'll notice that my jaw hurts and throat is constricted (that's where I'm holding the tension and stress for the last few months, oddly) and I can't seem to let that go no matter how calm I'm feeling mentally. I guess I have to give myself a bit of a break because I've had a lot going on - Greg moved to Michigan last weekend, and I'm trying to figure out whether/when I will join him. But luckily I have a good support system here with friends and family who have been really helpful and understanding. I've been going to yoga class more frequently (because #studentfirst) and have been taking the time to really enjoy simple things like eating lunch outside while the weather's still good, and the fact that my husky, who has been notoriously independent his entire life, has claimed Greg's side of the bed ever since he left.
Anyway, that's what's going on with me! Your turn!
