Oh, mornings. Sigh.
These days, I wake up feeling stiff and super sleepy, and I don't think it's my age, but I truly don't remember feeling this way a few years ago. Every morning I do a couple stretches just to get the blood flowing and wake up the muscles. I switch it up depending on what needs the most attention, but the poses above are on constant rotation - especially numbers 2, 3, and 4, which I do a number of times. Honest question: is there a better feel-good pose than rag doll? I just la-la-love it. So good for the hamstrings.
A tip I like envisioning the inhale entering from the feet, and then as I follow the inhale up my legs, I can honestly feel my hamstrings lengthen. Then, I hit the exhale at the waist, and melt the upper body over the thighs. I know this sort of sounds like flowery yoga teacher talk, but just ignore that and try it! It feels so good.
Let's talk Do you feel creaky in the morning? What poses do you do, if any? Where do you feel it the most? Also, how much sleep do you get per night? (I'm just curious)
