I’m bringing back Favorite Things, a little series of little goodies that I’ve purchased or stumbled upon that I love. In today’s edition, first up is my Boxy Charm box. This is actually a little annoying because I was (embarrassingly, I’ll admit) influenced by Kylie Freaking Jenner to buy the box. I subscribed for three months. The first two months were solid EH for me. I found two or three products I liked, but most weren’t for me (either the colors too bright, or not something I’d typically use). I do like the surprise of subscriptions boxes, though, and I generally will save the things I don’t use (mascara, for example), or things that aren’t right for me (bright colored eyeshadows) for people in my life I know who will love them. I had just cancelled my subscription because I’m saving for a car, and want to stop buying random unnecessary things, and then the box arrived. And I loved everything. I mean everything. Sigh. So annoying. Here’s what was in this box:
Bali Balm - This is a sweet orange and coconut lip balm and I always need lip balm in the winter. It smells so good and reminds me of summer. It’s also 100% natural, which I also love.
Dr Brandt DNA triple peptide eye cream - This is a full size item (they all are), and this retails for $80 which is outrageous to me. I love the product, though, and have added it to my skincare routine.
Farmacy Daily Greens - This retails for $54 and is a product I have loved for ages but can’t bring myself to buy because of the price tag. It’s so hydrating, which my skin needs in the winter.
Ciate London, Velvet Eyeshadow Palette - This is a really pretty eyeshadow palette with metallics, soft shimmers and velvet-smooth mattes. I love the array of colors. I can’t find a link for it, but it’s so pretty as you can see!
Ace Beauty Bronzed in Paradise - I love a good bronzer palette, and it’s nice when there are multiple shades so you can use the darker one in the summer when the sun is out more, and the lighter shades during the fall and winter.
Now I’m torn as to whether or not to re-subscribe for the Boxy Charm box. Maybe I’ll ask for it for my birthday, which is coming up :)
This month, my book club is reading Buy Yourself the Fucking Lilies. I was on the fence about participating this month because the initial review from one of the people in the group was that it was no good, but then sh said she was mistaken. I happened to stumble upon it while out and about the other day, and picked it up. I will say that there’s nothing groundbreaking in it, but how many of us know what to do, start doing it and then fall off the wagon? Pretty much all of us, right? This is just a great reminder and if you need to jumpstart your motivation to life a healthier, better, more vibrant life, I recommend this book! Like I said, not groundbreaking, but a great reminder if you’re feeling kinda blah right now.
Ok I actually didn’t buy this 32oz Hydro Flask Water Bottle, I got it for Christmas. I’ve been trying to be better about drinking more water, and this has helped so much. It’s taken a few tumbles already, as you can see - I seriously lug that thing everywhere with me, but it truly has helped me to drink more. My goal is two full bottles per day. I’m almost consistently there!
I’d love to know if you’ve stumbled upon any little goodies recently!
