Disclaimer: This video is brought to you by Las Catalinas, Costa Rica and Santarena Hotel. This little town and property is so beautiful and would make for the perfect stay if you’re visiting Costa Rica. Big thanks to them for hosting our Marketing Director, Lauren, and I prior to the start of our Costa Rica Yoga Retreat.
I’m back from Costa Rica and to be honest, it’s bittersweet. Like, yes it is so nice to be home after so many weeks on the road, but gosh, Costa Rica is gorgeous. I’ve been a million and one times because I studied abroad there when I was sixteen and have friends and a host family that I consider true family there, but it’s been a few years since I’ve been back.
I held a great yoga and fitness retreat while in Costa Rica, but if my experience has taught me anything (and this is something I share at our Business and Marketing Intensive), it’s that arriving a day or two ahead of the group is a must because it helps you as the leader to get settled and feel grounded, and also gives you some time to ensure that everything is running on schedule and going according to plan.
Prior to the start of this retreat, I stayed at Las Catalinas, and I have some gorgeous pics to share as well as a short but effective balancing sequence that you can do from anywhere - even in your office! No yoga mat required!
Before we get to the balancing sequence, I just wanted to give thanks to Las Catalinas, Costa Rica and Santarena Hotel for putting us up for a site visit and meeting with us to discuss possible opportunities there in the future (stay tuned!).
The property is gorgeous. It’s this great ocean front walkable town just an hour or so outside of Liberia, which is the airport you’d likely fly into if you were going into this region.
They have fully furnished apartments which make you feel right at home, a solid little grocery store, a handful of restaurants with fresh fish and local cuisine, and there’s a hotel on site as well.
They’ve got a gym, a spa, and a number of beautiful little spots to unroll your mat and have a little practice. Check out the pics below, and the video I filmed while there. The only downside of the place is that I wasn’t able to stay longer! I definitely will be back, though!
The video I filmed on property was all about balance. I firmly believe you don’t need much time in order to transform how you feel. Just a few minutes can really positively impact how you’re feeling, and this video really embodies that message.
After filming it - just over ten minutes long - I felt at east, balanced, and ready for the day ahead. As always, move slowly, listen to your body, and take breaks as needed. Let me know how it goes for you down in the comments section below!
