They’d send them in the hopes that I would share on social and while I did share what I loved, it didn’t really do that much to help get the word out about the companies, so together with Marketing Director Lauren, we brainstormed about how we could help. The more we learned about retail, the more we realized just how expensive it is for a small business to get onto the shelves at big box stores. We put our thinking caps on and came up with the idea of Mantra Box®.

We work with El Centro Santa Barbara, a Black, Indigenous, People of Color and LQBTQIA+ led organization working to address social and ecological inequities in the Lower Westside of Santa Barbara, CA.

Why the company was formed: Betty embarked on a 3.5-year-round the world trip across to 40+ countries to explore world cultures, inspiring landscapes, culinary heritage, global flavors, sustainable farms, artisanal foods, sustainability issues, and how world cultures influence the craft of food. Then she started Confetti Snacks in our tiny island lion city Singapore handcrafting veggies into nutrient dense chips we thought tasted better than store bought big brands with none of the junk.
How does the company "pay it forward" or give back to the community? Confetti makes delicious upcycled snacks from ugly veggies to reduce food waste, and uses colorful plants to feed the hungriest people in the world using a Robin Hood approach. We donate a portion of nutrient dense snacks to end hunger and malnutrition by working with global humanitarian missions to distribute snacks in the poorest parts of the world.
