Pandemic fatigue is real but I am fighting it pretty hard and trying my best to stay positive. I know a lot of people are really going through it lately so I wanted to share a few random, seemingly meaningless things that are bringing me joy as of late.
Dan and I finished The Crown (excellent, though a little slow at times), Bridgerton (solid meh for me - entertaining, but I didn’t see what the hype was all about), and now we are watching In the Dark which seems really good so far (only on episode 3).
My book club read This Close to Okay last month. (Trigger warning for suicide attempt.) I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars - it was good, but not great. Entertaining enough that I wanted to keep reading. Had highs and lows, and I liked that we got into the main character pretty good, but I would’ve loved to hear more of a back story to the guy she saves. If you need something quick and entertaining, I recommend it.
And lastly, Buckles is bringing me so much joy…as always. I swear, dogs are such a great reminder to be present and look for the little things. Like yesterday was so freaking cold and miserable, but Buckles loves the cold and it put a little pepper in his stepper. He was RUNNING everywhere and just so sprite and light on his feet like a little puppy. The thing is, he’s 13 now, and not at all a young pup, but his joy from the cold weather just made me so happy.
Hoping you all are hanging in there. Spring is right around the corner, don’t forget. And it’s always ok to reach out for help if you need it. No shame in that. xo
