I’m thrilled to delve a bit deeper into one of my favorite styles of yoga, restorative. In this four part video series which will kick off today, I’ll be sharing the foundations of restorative yoga. In this first video, I talk about what restorative yoga is, the difference between restorative and yin, what to expect if you were to go to a class, what types of props you might want to have if you’re going to practice restorative yoga at home (including these fantastic rectangular bolsters from Carolina Morning), what to consider when you first start practicing restorative yoga, and then we’ll do two poses as a little introduction, and I’ll talk about them afterwards. That is to say, this video is more of an informational video about restorative yoga, and I’m basically talking the whole time about it, rather than leading you through a practice. In later videos, I’ll lead you through an actual practice. This just helps to set the foundation.
You can expect the second video to debut next week, and in that video I’ll share more about how to sequence your own class (similar to what I shared in October about sequencing a self practice), and we’ll do a few more poses together. I’m excited and hope this speaks to you!! Let me know what you think down in the comments section below.
