Last month, I was lucky enough to receive a box from Material World Co. (#bloggingperks). I started the Style series about a year ago because I wanted to try to step it up a bit in the clothing department. My struggles are that I find it hard to shop for my body type - I'm 5'1'' (almost, haha), and I've got some curves, so I just feel like nothing ever fits quite right. I also hate buying stuff full price. I think it stems from my mom owning a consignment shop years ago, and also a while back, a legging company send me a one sheeter with their wholesale prices, and cost for production, and basically those leggings you spend $100 bucks on really only cost $20 to make. Anyway, I love shopping second hand. Not only do I like not having to pay full price, but I like the idea of sustainable shopping - which is why I was psyched to discover Material World Co.
Essentially, it's a styling subscription box service that costs $25/mo at a cadence of your preference - monthly/every other month/quarterly. You fill out a form to convey your style, and a stylist puts together a book of goodies for you. The items are higher end, pre-loved pieces. They send you the box, you try them on, and can purchase individual items or purchase everything at a discount. In addition, if you have items in your closet you no longer wear, you can trade them in for a credit to shop on the site.
There were a number of items in my first box, but the one thing I really loved was a Veronica Beard jumpsuit.
You guys know I love a good jumpsuit. This jumpsuit has party vibes going on. It's form-fitting but somehow extremely comfortable and flattering, featuring a pretty lace overlay and super stretchy bottoms.
I paired it with simple gold heels and kept the look pretty minimal with tousled hair and a no make-up make-up look, and it felt really feminine and pretty.
If you're into shopping sustainably, and like high quality designer pieces, check out the Material World Co. box for yourself!
