This has been a solidly meh week for me. I felt slightly off all week - not much motivation, a little overwhelmed with all the projects on my plate, and just overall feeling blah. Sometimes you have high weeks and sometimes you have low weeks, and I always tell myself you need the lows in order to really appreciate the highs, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This weekend should help to turn things around, though. I'm planning to go out for dinner tonight at this incredible farm to table restaurant (it's legit on a farm), and later on this weekend I have fun Superbowl plans and a baby sprinkle I am really looking forward to.
Hope you have a great weekend! What are your plans?
For the outfit portion of today's post, I'm going to experiment with writing each day in the present tense, since I upload each photo on that particular day of the week. Let me know if that throws you off or if that's cool.
Monday
I woke up exhausted and was really struggling to get the day going, don't you hate that?! I needed something cozy, so I pulled out this AllSaints sweater I got at Wasteland in LA a few months ago. They make such funky yet wearable stuff, but their prices are through the roof, so I always thrift their pieces or wait for super sales. I put a bunch of asymmetrical and surplus tops down below, if you're into the look. For jeans, I dug out an old pair of camo Current Elliott jeans. I never thought I'd be a camo girl, but I treat these like a neutral because they're not too bright or loud or anything. Shoes are my go-to mules.
Tuesday
I have a hundred and one errands to run this morning, so no time for make up. I threw on these old tribal Forever 21 leggings. Do you remember how much you paid for certain items? I paid $3 and change for these leggings before Forever 21 seriously started upping their prices. Surprisingly, this was 2011, and they have held up for that long. Up top I'm wearing an old soft layering tank and a Brandy Melville off the shoulder sweater. The hat is this plain black hat that was in a PR mailer for Cottonelle toilet paper (I have no idea, guys), and the shoes are old Nikes.
I need to be comfy today because there's a lot on my to-do list and a lot of running around that's gotta happen. I'm wearing a burgundy henley (it's this one but mine doesn't have the moose on the front, weird), j brand jeans, and mules. I don't love this outfit - feel like the jeans look too tight on my legs (they don't feel too tight) but whatever. Sometimes I feel like I'm being overly critical. Onward!
Thursday
I went into New York this morning for an afternoon hair appointment. I like going into the city early, and working for a few hours from a cafe near Grand Central, and then walking over to my appointment. I wore this old Lucky Brand button down which I love because the length is perfect for wearing with leggings. Lucky Brand is hit or miss for me, but they have really great sales, and I think I got this for like 50% off the sale price so it was around $20. They have it in blue on sale here. The leggings are moto Alo Yoga they sent me years ago (#bloggerperks), and I wore my combat boots with them because they're nearly as comfortable as sneakers (vital when in NYC) yet keep me legs warmer.
Friday
Oh I am so glad this week is finally over! I'm away from home for the next few days for Superbowl plans and a baby sprinkle, and I can't wait to get the weekend started. It's been a week. Anyway, today I'm wearing my comfy Paige jeans and a cozy Monrow long sleeved top with an attached grey layered tank the brand sent me a few years ago. They no longer make the same style, but here it is in black (size xs) if anyone wants to scoop it up second hand. I am really into this cold shoulder double layered top they've got out now (on sale).
