Do you ever just inexplicably hang on to stuff, unable to part with it? This is an extreme example, but if you've ever watched an episode of Hoarders, you know that an abundance of stuff can really weigh a person down. As annoying as it is to weed through our stuff twice a year in preparation for our moves, it is a blessing to not own that much. In yoga, this letting go and feeling of non-attachment is called aparigraha. It's the practice of evaluating what you really, truly need, and letting go of excess. Our obsession with accumulating stuff can be such a huge source of stress, but it can be hard to let things go.

What other questions do you ask yourself when you're trying to declutter? What do you do with things you've decided to get rid of? I usually donate some and sell some. If you're interested, here are a couple things I'm selling this time around.
