The world is a big place. Luckily, we can create our own realities and make our world as big or as small as we like. I remember doing this in college. I went to a big school but I frequented the same places- the fourth floor of the library for studying, the library's cafe for breaks, the same dining hall for breakfast, etc. By doing this, I'd see the same people. I may not have gotten to know them all personally, but the campus felt smaller and less intimidating when I'd see the same faces.
These days, I'm ready for my world to expand. I'm off to Istanbul this week for a few days. Not a solo trip like the one I took to Nice a few months ago, but this time with a great girl friend. We're off to explore Byzantine creations, eat Ottoman food, and maybe relax in a hamam.
Whatever world we create for ourselves, I think it's important not to judge others for their choices. Staying home all the time might seem stagnant and limited to some, while others might view fearless travel as reckless and dangerous. Keep in mind we're all just doing the best we can to live the life we want.
