It's Monday, and I've got a really great giveaway lined up for later on today, but before we get to that, I wanted to share some highlights from my weekend. Nothing too major happened, still waiting to spot my favorite celeb (Denzel, and I'm 99.9% sure he's in NYC doing a play), but it was a great weekend regardless.
I finally got my hair done (see above). Basically the above picture is to document that for exactly one day, my hair looked good. The caption should probably read "I will never be able to get my hair like this on my own." I'm pretty pleased with how it came out - I just went for a cut and subtle ombre color. I'm also pleased to say it didn't cost me anywhere near $475, which is WHAT I WAS QUOTED BY A NUMBER OF SALONS. (You should've heard me - while on the phone with the first salon when I was calling around, the receptionist said, "$475 for a cut," and I waited for her to be like, "Just kidding!" but it wound up being an awkward silence instead.) Oh, LA.
We got to do a little exploring this weekend. Greg wanted to check out the Walk of Fame, which was cool for like .2 seconds and then it felt overrated and pretty miserable with the stampede of tourists. PS- Winnie the Pooh has his own star, but there were too many people taking a photo so my girl Penelope had to do. :)
We drove around Mulholland Drive (the views were great, click to pic to enlarge) and checked out an improv show at Upright Citizens Brigade with some friends.
One of my goals this weekend was to get the word out about the Santa Barbara yoga retreat coming up this weekend, because I have two spots left that I'd love to fill. (If you know of anyone who might want to join, I'd be so grateful if you'd pass them the info!) I went to the print shop by my house with my flyer and then grabbed a quick lunch at Urth before running all over town from West Hollywood to Venice looking for bulletin boards (mostly Whole Foods and little health food stores). If anyone ever tells you being a yoga instructor is easy, don't believe them. It's a hustle, especially in a city like LA where the market is, well, saturated.
And when all my errands were finished, I realized I had missed the yoga class I wanted to get to, and my motivation was waning. But I pulled it together, and got my butt to the gym, where I finally got in a good sweat sesh- sprints, Jacob's ladder (who invented that thing?! It's a punishment!) and elliptical. There's nothing like a good workout to turn your day around, you know?
I'm looking forward to the week ahead - don't forget to check back later today for a great giveaway!
How was your weekend?
PS- Last weekend.
