For me, on a difficulty scale of one to ten, learning the Sanskrit names for yoga poses was around a fifteen. I am not good at memorizing, and always need some sort of little trick. Like purvotonnasana? I only remembered that pose because the beginning sounds like "perv" and in the pose you're sticking your pelvis up in the air. So. Yeahhhh.
Anyway! Today's pose requires a bit of an open hip which will help get the foot in the hip crease of the extended leg. From there, you'll bind (depending on your flexibility, a yoga strap may be helpful), and then reach forward with the other hand to grab hold of the big toe of the extended leg. Keep your collar bones broad as you lean forward, bringing the head toward the leg.
TIP: If you can't grab hold of the toe of the extended leg, just grab the ankle or anywhere on the shin.
PS- More yoga poses explained.
