Because I have arthritic issues, I try to incorporate as much alkaline forming food as I can into my diet. You can read more about alkaline foods here if you'd like, but basically it's just a way to get the body's pH, which can be slightly acidic due to the typical American diet, to be slightly alkaline. When our bodies are too acidic a number of health problems can arise: low energy, chronic fatigue, arthritic/joint issues, frequent headaches, intestinal issues, etc. If you're suffering from any of the above, try adding some of the above foods and see if it helps!

I feel like my meals have been so boring this past week because I've honestly been making that granola and eating it throughout the day with little variety. (Did any of you make it? I'd love to know if you liked it, or if you added something else that made it even better!) Here are the few meals I did eat besides the granola (and a juicy burger and fries last Saturday night, oh boy). Clockwise from top left: An egg/cheese/zucchini/pepper omelet gone wrong (apologies to my high school life skills teacher), salad with cucumber/cranberries/peppers/chicken, wild salmon with zucchini and tabbouleh, and a flax wrap with veggie burger, broccoli, beans and avocado.
