Do you ever finish a book and are sad when you turn the last page? That's happened to me with every single book by Khaled Hosseini. I really, really love his writing. His latest, And the Mountains Echoed, was no exception. It's a novel about a brother and sister who are extremely close. One day, the sister seemingly disappears without a trace. Each chapter is a different mini story about various people in the lives of the two - sometimes in the future, sometimes in the past- that tell what happened to the siblings. I know it sounds sort of confusing, but this is where Hosseini masterfully comes in. His characters are all so well developed, so different and so appealing in their own ways, that the layers of the story are seamlessly woven together and with each turn of the page you just want to find out what happens next. Highly recommended.
