There are only a few days left until our Namaslay® YTT graduation in Santorini! We checked in with our trainees to see how they were feeling half way through the training. They answered four questions for you - spoiler alert: they’re doing an amazing job. Follow their stories on Instagram and give them some love in the comments!

What are you missing most from home and what strategy are you using to help?
I miss my husband a lot! We talk everyday on the phone and Skype when the connection is good. And even though we have the time difference he’ll text me good morning as he’s going to bed haha
What has surprised you most about Namaslay® YTT?
The people here. We all connected so easily and I think that’s because everyone came into it ready to just be authentically themselves! Every single person is such a joy to be around!
What has been your favorite aspect of the training so far? It can be anything - from food to anatomy lesson.
My favourite aspect has surprisingly been the business side! I love learning about social media, retreats, etc. It’s so fun to think about planning these things for myself in the future.
Do you wish you spent more time preparing for anything?
Absolutely lol I read the books some, not completely, and didn’t study them. So I wish I had better prepared/studied poses and Sanskrit.

What has surprised you most about Namalsay® YTT?
How easily and quickly everyone gelled. One could expect as much with a group of yogis, but we didn't know each other, have different backgrounds, and come from all over the world. Yet our group is incredibly open and supportive (emotionally AND physically), and eager to learn. There is so much love here; it's like family.
What do you think has been the most informative aspect of this training? This can be absolutely anything.
How anatomy plays a role in sequencing. We've learned what poses to do (and not do) in order to build up to pique poses, which is interesting but also very important from a body-safety perspective.

SO MANY THINGS! But one of my favorite aspects has been the location. Hotel Pelagos' food is amazing and wholesome, we're just a few minutes walk to the sea, a few minutes walk to a mountainside church overlooking the landscape, and a quick taxi ride into local towns. We could have done YTT anywhere but being immersed in Namaslay® YTT in such a rich environment has made the experience that much more phenomenal.
How did your preparation for YTT complement your experience thus far?
I had a feeling Sanskrit was going to be important, so I studied the poses in-advance, which made preparing for the first exam "a little" less stressful. :)

What I miss most is a good night's sleep!
What has surprised you most about Namaslay® YTT?
How fast everything is moving and all the information we are getting. It's day 8 and I already designed 4 flows! 8 days ago I had no idea how a sequence is designed.

The vibe of the group.everyone is supportive and respectful! We embrace each other's differences and care for each other deeply

Learning the sanskrit of basic poses would have helped

The people ❤️
Do you wish you spent more time preparing for anything?
Learning Sanskrit - those words are Tongue Twisters!!
Did you spend any time worrying or analyzing something before arriving, that now that you're here, doesn't seem to matter?
Anatomy - I was afraid of the language and all those words - but our teachers are great and explained everything so well!
What's your overall impression of Namaslay® YTT so far?
I love it! It's super intense and really challenging In every aspect - but totally worth it. We are not only stepping out of our comfort zone, it's more like being thrown off a cliff! But that's how we grow.
