Demo Video: 3 Ways to Use Dumbbells in Yoga for Upper Body Strength

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links is brought to you by ProSource, who generously sent three sets of neoprene covered dumbbells at varying weights. I like them because they’re really easy to grip, and the neoprene covering makes them a little easier on your flooring. Use code YBC20 for 20% off your order.

If you’ve been wanting to start diving into crow pose, grasshopper pose, and handstand in order to take your yoga practice to new (literal) heights, then you’ll want to start incorporating some moves to build upper body strength. In this video, I’m sharing three ways you can use dumbbells to begin building that upper body strength. Basically, I’d suggest getting creative in your self practice. When you find yourself holding high lunge, go ahead and grab a set of dumbbells to add in some tricep presses. When you find yourself holding goddess pose, add shoulder presses. When you find yourself in warrior two, add lateral raises. All of these moves will begin to work the upper body to help you have a solid foundation in your arm balances. Hope you enjoy! Give them a try and let me know your thoughts down in the comments section below.
