We're back with another hiit workout and today's features two of my favorite movements (burpees and box jumps) and one I absolutely loathe (push ups)! Hey, just keepin' it real over here!
We all have strengths and weaknesses, right? My strengths, when it comes to fitness, is endurance. I'm pretty good with any kind of cardio movement, and I love to get my heart a-pumpin' that way. Burpees are my jam. Box jumps are a second favorite, although my shins probably won't agree (I've fallen by smashing my shins into those darn wooden boxes more times than I can count).
My current major weakness right now is upper body strength and so I always give push ups the side eye. I can bang out about ten in a row, but after that, my arms feel like they turn to rubber. It's the worst. However, I know the only way to improve is to keep doing them, so do them I shall.
In today's video, I've partnered with Hotel Marlowe, a Kimpton hotel in Cambridge, Mass. Their gym is awesome - one of the best hotel gyms I've seen in all my travels. It's not huge, but it really does have everything you'd ever need to get a great workout in, as you can see. In this workout, we are going to be doing three rounds of 10 repetitions of each movement. So it'll go:
- 10 Burpees
- 10 Box Jumps
- 10 Push Ups
Use what you have at home or at your gym. As you can see, I don't have a traditional plyometric box, but a bench works just fine. Follow along with me and let me know how it goes for you down in the comments section below!
