October is here with all its beautiful change, the leaves, the weather, the time to reconnect. With the political climate, family matters, and the ongoing pandemic, I am more grateful than ever for my movement practice. I’ve been struggling with a herniated disc for months now, so my movement looks a lot different these days. My workouts are focused on improving low back pain and supporting my posture, and I’m sharing them in the Ongoing 6 Week Low Back Workout Program for Strength and Stability for anyone who is having similar pains.
My yoga practice has become a lot more grounding, and I spend more time in meditation than I do arm balances lately. I’m reminded though that this too is a gift. Even though I am physically suffering, I have an invitation to pay more attention to my body, to be more mindful in my movement, and to be grateful for my health and vitality. Because spinal flexion (forward bending) exacerbates my pain, Ashley demonstrated the yoga practices in this month’s classes for the Intention Factor™ Online Studio.
