I've been so looking forward to this holiday season, but despite my excitement they've somehow snuck up on me and caught me by surprise. I'm mostly ready, but still finding myself a bit anxious about things I need to get done before the holiday rush. I've been making self-care top priority because if my mental health isn't in check, everybody around me better watch it, haha.
I thought I'd share some ideas for keeping your sanity through the holiday season. I'd love to hear yours down in the comments section below.
Escape with a Good Book
I've read so many great books this past year. I'm just getting into my current pick and I can't put it down. I also picked up this one and this one as gifts for friends. Tiny Beautiful Things is one of my favorite feel good reads, and would be the perfect pick for cozying up during the holiday season. This is How it Always Is, Small Great Things and I Liked My Life were fantastic novels I read this year as well.
At Home Spa-Day
When I'm stressed, I love taking long baths with epsom salt, essential oil and putting on a mask and a good podcast (here's ours, if you haven't listened!)
Watch on Something Good
I got into a bunch of new-to-me shows these past few months. Schitt's Creek (on Netflix) is hysterical and has a fantastic cast. You can't go wrong with Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. And I've loved This is Us on NBC.
Channel Your Inner Kid
Nothing feels as good as being silly and laughing like crazy, so channel your inner kid by going sledding or building a snowman or going ice skating. It'll lift your spirits, I promise!
Get Out Your Journal
Writing is so therapeutic. Try a gratitude journal. Or, write about what you love about yourself. Or, do our 4 Week Yoga/Fitness/Mindfulness program which has writing prompts for reflection and gratitude.
I'd love to hear your tips! Share them below in the comments section.
