This past summer I discovered the benefits of essential oils (this brand is my favorite), and I've been enjoying learning how to use them, as documented here and here. Most recently, I've begun taking them to yoga class and using them during savasana to promote deeper relaxation.
I created this little chart of basics for anyone interested in essential oils. I chose a couple of my favorite easy to find oils and the easiest ways to use them. There are other ways to use essential oils, but these three are the ones I use most.
For a bath, use 10-15 drops of oil in a full bath.
For a compress, use 8-10 drops of oil to 2 cups hot or cold water, and stir. Briefly soak a cotton cloth, wring it, and place it on the skin.
For a massage, use 12-15 drops of oil to 1 ounce of carrier oil (almond, sunflower, jojoba, etc.)
Hope you find this helpful! What essential oils do you like best? How do you use them?
