This is one of my favorite feel-good yoga poses because it offers a full body stretch from the head to the toes (literally). It can be intimidating, though, and rightly so, as the neck could be compromised if the gaze is taken away from the belly button. Sometimes people feel compression in the neck area, and if this happens to you, you can modify by folding up a yoga blanket twice and placing it just under the upper back/shoulder area (not under the neck).
Tip: Keep the legs engaged as much as possible and you'll really feel the benefit in the hamstrings.
