It’s time for another Style Series post and today I’m chatting about two new finds I scored while in Los Angeles a few weeks back. I’d done some work with Champion on Instagram over the summer, which I was psyched about, and they were just such a great brand to work with so on a chilly LA evening, I was walking around The Grove and wishing I’d had something warmer on. I popped into Nordstrom and saw this cute blue sweatshirt. As you know by now, I gravitate towards all black everything, but I’m trying to branch out. I loved this pewter blue color, and the hoodie is super warm and has a shrunken fit so it feels extra cozy. The fabric is thicker, which makes the hood sit a little taller which I love. Of course the pewter color is now sold out but it also comes in a deep burgundy and a bunch of other colors below.
I love the look of sweatshirts and ponytails. I’ve found the trick is to set the ponytail high on the head so that if you look at yourself in the mirror, you can see the top of the ponytail just peeking out over the head. It also makes you look taller, lol.
I wore the sweatshirt with a pair of comfortable distressed skinny jeans, but you could also do high waist mom jeans, leggings, a skirt - literally anything.
And lastly, the sneakers. I bought and returned various styles of this same sneaker because I could never get the fit quite right - but I finally found the key! You have to size down! I take a 7.5 usually, and for these, I did a 37. They’re not budget friendly, but can find them gently used on The Real Real or they often go on sale at the end of the season. I love that they give you an added inch (I’ll take all the height tricks I can get, because at barely 5’1, I need them!).
