A few weeks ago, RVCA sent me a little package that included this dress. I opened it up and being hit with a wave of nostalgia because I distinctly remember my mom having a similar style in the eighties. A sort of loose, breezy thing with thicker straps that buttoned all the way up. This newer version has a bit of an update with a cut that somehow manages to be both loose but flattering, skinny 90s spaghetti straps and a deep scoop neck. In short, it was a pretty perfect piece to pack for my trip to the Cayman Islands recently.
While I normally gravitate towards lighter colors, I was into this darker striped pattern, which I think could take you into other seasons as well. Throw on a choker, a white t-shirt underneath, and some boots and you could have a very 90s fall vibe. But here, it works for a walk down the beach to get some coffee.
As I sat here, I also realized it would’ve been a great beach cover up, and once you get to said beach, simply unbutton, lay it down and boom! It’s now a beach blanket on which to sun yourself while reading a good book. Speaking of books, our YBC® Book Club, which is run on our App, read this book in Feb. It was fantastic.
For accessories, I didn’t do much. I’m not even wearing shoes here, but if I were, I’d do something like these (splurge) or these (steal). I’m also wearing the bracelets I never take off, and this necklace I’ve been wearing since summer. It was an easy breezy vacay look!
