A few months ago when I was in Europe, 21 Drops sent some essential oil blends and I only just got to trying them out this past week and I couldn't wait to share because I think they're genius. Here's the thing about essential oils - it's really hard to come by a good blend. Many are made with synthetic ingredients and are no bueno for the body. With 21 Drops, the blends are certified organic or wild-crafted essential oils, and are free of paragons, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.
In the past, I've talked about various ways to use essential oils as therapy for various things and to improve mood, but what I like about these blends is that they come already prepared and there's no guesswork for us to do. 21 Drops creates the blends for specific purposes (the founder, Cary Caster, is a botanist and clinical aromatherapist) and that's great because there's a lot that goes into designing a blend (you need to use a specific carrier oil, and there are certain essential oils that you don't want to get directly on your skin, etc). So they take on the task of figuring out the best blends, and we get to reap the benefits.
They sent me the following blends:
Uplift: A blend to help shake the blues and brighten your spirits. Contains Helichrysum to buoy the spirit, rose to sooth the heart, Lavender to nurture and German Chamomile to aid emotional healing.
Sleep: A blend to help quiet the anxious mind and relax the body in preparation for a good night's sleep. It contains Ylang Ylang to encourage peace, Vetiver to sooth, Sandalwood to quiet the mind and Palmarosa to diminish anxiety.
Focus: This one is my favorite of the four! It promotes concentration and clarity with the use of Rosemary to reduce fogginess, Peppermint to stimulate the mind and Frankincense to induce clarity.
De-Stress: This blend reduces tension, anger and anxiety with Lavender to reduce anxiety, Ylang Ylang to help ease anxiety, German Chamomile to reduce tension and Frankincense to quiet the mind.
Below is a little video to help you get a better idea of the packaging and oil blends.
I've been using the sleep blend for the past week and have noticed that I fall asleep more quickly than when I don't use it. And I absolutely love the focus blend. It just smells fantastic and I keep applying it throughout the workday. If you're at all interested in trying out a blend, I highly recommend checking out 21 Drops.
