The YBC® App has been such a fun outlet for creating exclusive content. In today’s post, I wanted to share what we’d be covering for our monthly program, as well as our book club pick.
21 Day Program: Back Support
This 21 Day Program is designed to help you develop stability through the shoulders, upper back and through the glutes, hamstrings and core to support the lumbar spine (low back). I have an old rotator cuff injury, tend to send my weight to my left side when I stand, and paired with my constant travel, my back and shoulders have felt out of whack. Because so many of us spend a good portion of the day seated, hunched over a desk, driving a car, or looking at our phones, back pain is pretty common. I recently shared a podcast on back care featuring postural alignment insights and some interesting tips I learned in my 300 hour teacher training for bringing awareness to diaphragmatic breathing, and I’m excited to share some of the movements and exercises that can help alleviate pain and improve the flow of deep breath. Anyone dealing with minor back pain or shoulder issues can benefit from building strength in these areas, so be sure to download the YBC® App, opt in, and on June 1st you’ll get the 21 day schedule.
You don’t have to follow the schedule exactly; you can start at anytime. Book Club Pick: Normal People
One of the upsides to spending so much time on airplanes is that I get extra time to read! The YBC® Book Club pick this month is Normal People , which tells the story of the relationship between two high school kids and follows them into college. Their story spans over several years; it’s a smart, quick, entertaining read that makes you ponder your own complicated relationships.
