Continuing our Panama series this week, I'm sharing a style post I put together while there last week. Hope you enjoy!
Recently, I've been trying to revamp my wardrobe. Part of it is that I'm doing the weekly outfit posts on Friday and am feeling like I should gravitate toward more than just jeans and leggings, and the other part of it is that I love the thrill of hunting down something I'll love for ages. I'd been searching for Marley pants by Tularosa for longer than I care to admit, and finally found them in blue on Poshmark (you guys know I love a good thrift find). I'd never used the app before, but it worked seamlessly and I'd be lying if I said I don't scroll through it daily when I'm bored just to see what I see.
Anyway, these pants were everything I ever wanted because they're super elongating thanks to the high waist, long stripes and wide leg. They're also very lightweight, which makes them ideal for warm weather climates, and lined so you don't have to worry about your underwear showing through.
I paired the pants with a black one shoulder top I got from Forever 21 a few months ago on a whim. I can't find it now but here's a great off the shoulder option. Initially I wanted to do something bright or pastel for the top, but I really wanted to wear this hat I got (another secondhand find), and the hat has a black ribbon around it, so I figured I might as well just keep it simple. Black top it was. In hindsight, since you can't even see the black ribbon, I think this whole look would've been much better with a different color top. Ah well.
Ok let's talk about this hat. It's Janessa Leone, a brand I've been hearing about for ages, but couldn't, for the life of me, fathom spending hundreds on a hat. However, I didn't own any wide brim hats, and every time I'd see them on someone else I'd mentally make a note to try one. I just love the look on other people! Then I found this hat on The RealReal, on sale for just over $100 and figured I should try it out. The worst case scenario, I reasoned, was that I'd hate it and just resell it.
Well, let's just say I loved it so much I promptly scooped up another Janessa Leone hat (black felt this time), the second it went on sale on their site. Big fan. Each hat is expertly handmade in small batches. They come in three different sizes. I swear I have the smallest head, so I was nervous about buying it, but the small fits perfectly.
These pants are pretty long, so I wore a pair of wedges. They're by Dolce Vita, a brand I love for its comfort, on-trend designs, and reasonable price point.
Do you have a go-to pair of pants? What are they like? These might be my new go-to pair for warm weather climates...
