PSA: We are slowly unveiling our spring workshop tour schedule! Keep an eye on this account so you don't miss a thing!
In the end of the year survey we recently posted, many of you mentioned you liked the style series posts, so I thought I'd share what I've worn each week on Fridays in addition to a little run down of how the week went. I thought it'd be a nice complement to the Motivation Monday posts we do at the beginning of each week. And in a way, this will hold me accountable for actually wearing clothes that are not sweatpants everyday (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I am more productive when I'm in "real" clothes). If you like this series and wouldn't mind taking a sec down in the comments section below, let me know if you like hearing the added commentary after each outfit or if you'd prefer I just get to the point, link each piece and keep it movin'.
So this week was super productive for me. It seems like it always takes a few weeks before I really get into the swing of things and implement strategies to meet my New Year's goals. I ended each night by making a to do list for the following day, and then I completely shut off my phone, which is new for me. Normally, I'll just put it on silent and go to bed, but I keep reading these awful articles about how bad it is for you to sleep near your phone, and how just having it near you can disrupt sleep. One of my resolutions this year is to really work hard on getting better quality sleep, so turning my phone off completely has been an experiment to see if it helps. So far, so good, but I don't think it's been enough time to definitively say whether it's helped. I'll keep you updated on that.
Another one of my goals this year is to be a neater person, so I spent time this week cleaning my office, which felt like a huge weight off my shoulders once it was done. I also got a new book that I'm excited to dig into this weekend, and I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend with happy hour and a fun dinner planned tonight. Wishing you a happy weekend! xo
Monday
I bought this cropped hi-low sweater over the weekend on sale plus an extra 50% off (use code GOTIME), which brought it down to about $25 bucks. Love a good deal and I have a handful of sweaters (all black or grey) so this was a nice switch-up in my closet.
Pants are One Teaspoon (currently on sale!) which is a good budget brand, but I should've sized down because these are the kind of pants that stretch a LOT by the end of the day, so if you get them, I'd suggest going one size down.
Shoes were slippers I've had for approximately 800 years, because #workfromhome. It doesn't look like they make them anymore, but here's a very similar style on sale.
Tuesday
This sweatshirt top (currently on sale) is the best! It was a Christmas gift and I love it. It's got a slashed v-neck and is so cozy and easy to wear with everything from a skirt to jeans to sweatpants.
I live for these jeans by GRFND Denim. I got them on sale a few months ago, and they're a brand I've never tried before, and I love them. They're so comfortable they've become my go-to pants for flying...and I normally refuse to fly in jeans! They've got the perfect amount of stretch and the high rise is flattering and doesn't dig into your skin the way Levi's do on me (insert sad face, I wanted so badly to get on board with Levi's but they never fit right - if they fit my waist, then my thighs feel like sausages and if I size up to accommodate my thighs, they ride down because of the waist. Womp.).
The booties (now on sale!) were an impulse purchase earlier this year when I wanted to try the velvet trend but wasn't down to dress in full-on velvet because #itchy. They're really comfortable and I like that you can dress them down with ripped jeans and a sweatshirt.
Wednesday
Really into Adidas right now, and this top was a Christmas gift that I was so psyched to receive. I wore it over an old F21 tank.
My pants are from Alo. They're the moto leggings, and I love them for around town but not so much for working out because, I don't know, they sort of feel like jeans?! I can't really explain it but they're not workout/yoga friendly IMHO.
Socks are Stance - new favorite brand, and combat boots are super old and sort of getting ready to kick the bucket but I can't find a better quality pair that is about the same calf length and has the same floppy-at-the-top kind of look that I've grown to love.
Thursday
Top is Onzie - sold out in pink but on sale in black) and it's fantastic because it's got THUMB HOLES, PEOPLE! Also an open cut back. I wore it over our new Namaslay olive green muscle tank and high waist leggings. Shoes are K-Swiss (now on super sale).
Friday
I bought this hat recently because I have always loved the look on others but had felt I couldn't pull it off. I saw the hat and was thought, enough - if you want to try the look just get the damn hat! Haha, so here I am, alone in my office wearing the hat. I'm going out for happy hour later so the true test will be to see if I will actually wear it out. The hat is by Hat Attack, but this one is of equal quality and on sale. The gucci shoes (similar) I got from The Real Real (#addicted), the jeans are an old favorite (on sale here) worn with an ice blue t-shirt and a chambray button down.
