As most of you know, YBC's Marketing and Events Director Lauren recently gave birth to her baby boy Hudson, so we thought it would be fun to share some of her favorite clothing picks for mom and baby. Hope you enjoy! xoCandace
KicKee Pants - I CAN NOT say enough good things about this brand. These pj sets are by far my favorite out of all the pajamas we’ve bought and gotten as gifts; they’re so soft they feel like butter. Fun Fact: their clothing is super soft because it’s made with 95% viscose bamboo. The footie ones are especially perfect for the cooler months as they’re lined on the inside with fleece. This is an exciting time for KicKee Pants as they’re celebrating 10 years in business! They were kind enough to send over some of their most popular Fall Anniversary Collection items. Which is a pretty special collection because it included past prints that were voted on by customers to make a comeback. I also just discovered that they recently launched a Women’s & Menswear line (dreams to come true!) which could get dangerous because I’ll have the whole family in KicKee Pants before they know it, haha.
KinderSprouts Organic - You guys know we love supporting small business so I often browse ETSY for cool, unique companies I can share with friends and family. I stumbled across this small family business that hand makes everything from start to finish in Wisconsin and I absolutely fell in love with their organic baby boutique. They were kind enough to send over this adorable penguin legging & bib set along with a second bib in a super trendy cactus print. You GUYS, these bibs are EVERYTHING. They’re adjustable so your little one can wear them through those transitional stages but my favorite part about them? The backside is made from a washcloth type material, so after Hudson is done eating I swipe his face quickly and he’s ready to rock and roll. Most bibs we have are a smoother cotton material, so when I wipe his face the food just smears across his cheek... making an even bigger mess. I’ve also started educating myself about the environmental impact the fashion industry has on the planet (pretty mind-blowing stuff) so I really appreciate Kinder Sprouts’ use of GOTS (global organic textile standard) certified organic cotton in their clothing and bibs. This means that the entire fabric production chain from seed to fabric to printing has to follow very high standards for minimum environmental impact, no toxic chemicals, and fair labor practices, so they can be confident that the materials they use in their pieces haven’t harmed people or the plant. I mean, does it get any cooler than that?! Use coupon code YBCSHIP2 for free shipping on the purchase of any two items. Valid 11/16-11/20. (Direct Link)
Mini Mioche - This is another brand I reached out to specifically because their clothing is made of GOTS certified organic cotton. They use environmentally friendly processes and materials on all their items, which are ethically manufactured in Toronto, ON Canada by workers who make livable wages. Everything about this makes me feel good about supporting a brand who cares about it’s impact on both its workers and the environment we all live in. I also really love their approach to design; everything is simple and fairly gender neutral, making it really easy to pass on items from one child to another; whether boy or girl. We got the most compliments on this biker romper - I can already tell he’s going to live in it this fall and winter. Use coupon code MMLOVE for 15% off regular priced-items online. Valid until December 31, 2017.
Smash + Tess - EVERY. SINGLE. MOM. NEEDS. THIS. ROMPER. Okay, even if you’re not a mom, you need this romper too. This is essentially my mom uniform. It’s beyond comfortable with a light and roomy fit - making it the perfect article of clothing to lounge in (during naps) and chase your littles in. The owners are a mother-daughter-bestie team that emit serious business goals. I was lucky enough to receive this Friday Romper a few weeks ago and i’ve literally lived in it (laundry days are the worst without it now!) This little long-sleeved beauty was made with a stylish drop-crotch AND pockets - I mean, does it get any better?! They also make a short sleeve version, The Sunday Romper. Keep your eye on their website as they’re releasing some super fun festive Holiday Rompers on November 30th.
Queen of Hearts - Ever since giving birth I've been on the lookout for super comfortable but still stylish and trendy clothes. I have ZERO time to sit and think about my OOTD these days so it's really nice to have a few staple pieces from Queen of Hearts in my wardrobe. Everything is super versatile and extremely comfortable. I never was one to wear 'athletic' style clothes but this brand has me sold. It's perfect for lounging around the house or running errands. Use code 'YOGABYCANDACE' at check out for 10% off. Any YBC'ers who sign up for their mailing list will receive an automated code to receive an additional 20% off now until Dec 16th.
