In this Beauty Files post, I'm sharing an easy French Braid Pig Tail Tutorial.
My mom is a hairdresser and has been for years, so as a kid I was always rocking French braids and pig tails. I see them with more and more frequency on instagram so I think it's safe to say they're making a comeback. Lauren has amazing mermaid hair, so I roped her into being my hair model. Her hair came out so great and I thought it would be perfect for yoga class, working out, or even everyday wear.
To start, you'll need a comb and two hair elastics. Then, divide the hair down the center. On the first side, take three large sections of hair and begin your braid. After the first crossover, take a section from the side to add to your other section of hair and do the same on the other side as shown. Keep repeating all the way down until there isn't anymore hair to take from the scalp and you've turned the remaining hair into a regular braid. Then, secure with an elastic and repeat the same thing on the other side.
Once both sides are finished, I like to go in and mess up the braid a little bit, just because I prefer messy hair over super perfect hair. I'll pull the sides of the braid here and there, and loosen any pieces that feel too tight to me. Then, voila, you're done!
Hope you guys enjoy!
