PSA: I am psyched at everyone's enthusiasm for the 20 Day Jumpstart Yoga Program. It's not too late to join if you're just hearing about it now! And, our book tour starts in a few weeks! Be sure to RSVP to the bookstore if you plan on coming to a signing, and don't forget that we are holding a number of yoga workshops while we're cruising through! And lastly, our next yoga retreats are in Miami and Kenya and you're invited!
Thanks for all the kind words about my latest macros update. Like I mentioned in that post, I've been making a real effort to get my gut back in good health following a course of antibiotics I took for an abscessed tooth. My go-to products have been:
- Vital Proteins Beauty Greens: I drink this every mid-morning with a bit of lemon. It's got probiotics in it as well as marine collagen, hyaluronic acid and raw organic greens.
- Kombucha: This fermented drink is filled with probiotics....annnnd it also tastes great. I drink about half of one per day. Guava Goddess is my favorite flavor, alongside gingerade.
- Sauerkraut: Are you sick of my talking about sauerkraut yet?! I either eat it with every single meal (even breakfast) or take a shot of the sauerkraut juice (even more potent than the actual food). Bubbie's is my favorite brand, followed closely by wildbrine.
- Bone Broth: My Whole Foods recently started carrying Bonafide Provisions bone broth, which is a kick-ass, women-owned company I met at Expo East that makes the most delicious bone broths. They're coming out with a turkey one in November and let me just tell you - IT. IS. LIFE CHANGING.
In the workout department, I've been kinda bummed because James is no longer programming so I need to find a good program to follow. It hasn't mattered too much recently, though, because my shoulder injury is back! Nothing major, just a slight tweak, but it was enough to keep me out of the gym for four days straight (I don't remember the last time I did that!) and enough to make me tailor my workouts to be mostly lower body stuff. Womp womp. Continuing the womp womp news is the fact that the last two times I did boxjumps, I completely tore up my right shin. I would post a picture but it's disgusting. I'll keep the snap updated though.
In new fitness finds, Thera Cane sent me their Max Massager a few months back and I've been using it a lot lately to rehabbing my shoulder. My whole upper back has been pretty tight and the Max Massager has seven strategically placed knobs so you can reach your whole body. You're actually able get a full body massage out of it, given how the knobs are placed.
In other new finds, last week someone mentioned the Plant Nanny app in the comments section when I'd said I knew I wasn't drinking enough throughout the day. The Plant Nanny app gives you this little virtual plant and every time you drink water, you plug it into the app and it will "water" your plant for you. When the plant has gone X amount of time without water, the app reminds you to drink so you can water the plant. It seems so ridiculous but it honestly works! I've been hydrating so much more since I've downloaded the app.
In the athleisurewear department, I've gotten back into my Lululemon love affair. (Please don't kill me! I really have no excuse other than one afternoon a few weeks ago, I looked down and realized the pants I was wearing had a huge rip in them, Lululemon was literally right in front of me, I walked in, tried on the wunder under hi rise crops and never looked back. It was love at first wear, and you can see them in the video above. I've worn them six times and washed them as many times and they've held up, but that's not really saying much, so I'll keep you posted on that. Make sure you get the full-on luon version, not the other one. I found the full-on luon to be extremely high quality, although like I said, I've only worn them a few times, so let me keep you posted on that.
A few sale items I noticed (including my favorite pair of off the mat leggings - the Alo Moto Leggings):
A few new songs on repeat on my playlists:
And that about does it for me! What's been going on with your workouts? How are your fitness goals coming along? What are they? Any recent new songs you've added to your playlists?
