We took advantage of the last free weekend my husband had off before work really kicked into gear and headed into Prague, about an hour from where we are. I go to Prague three or four times a week because my gym is there, but it's not right in the downtown area, so I often just go and come back without exploring much.
We had been to Prague on vacation a few years ago over a bitterly cold February vacation and this was a totally different experience. It was bustling with people and every store and restaurant was open for business. We ate at a Lemon Leaf, a great little Thai spot next to an awesome used book store.
For the ride in, I brought along a fresh lemon ginger tea I made and topped it with my Cuppow mason jar lid (you might remember seeing it from my road trip), which pretty much converts your mason jar into a sippy sup for adults, but hey, no spills, so I'm all for it!
We browsed the shops, stopping in at this one little chocolate shop. My mom loves lavender so I picked up this organic chocolate bar by Seed and Bean and I'll send it her way once I find a post office.
The drive to and from Prague has some breathtaking views. The trip is easy, though I will admit to missing Germany's autobahn just because not having to worry about a speed limit is an obvious perk. I feel so lucky to have such a fantastic city just a short drive away, and I'm sure there will be plenty more trips to come.
