A year ago yesterday I flew to Germany at the end of a six week stay in Thailand for yoga teacher training and a bit of traveling. It was my first time traveling alone since I was 16, and it was an adventure. I got lost and wandered into a Buddhist temple, I roamed through an open air market looking for a yoga mat but could only find aisle after aisle of buckets with eels and squid and all sorts of seafood I didn't recognize. I played with baby tigers after nearly passing out from anxiety and heat exhaustion. I haggled with a tuk tuk driver, stood my ground on the price I was willing to pay (and lost). My hotel room at the training had a few resident toads, lizards and birds (but not one spider!). It was my first time to Asia and it was totally unlike any other place I have been - the food, the smells, the language, the culture- all so different. My trip and the training was one of the best things I've ever done for myself, and I thought I'd share a few pictures. Have you ever been to Asia? Did you love it?
