Do you ever have one of those days where everything falls perfectly into place to make a great day? That's the kind of day I had yesterday. Nothing "big" or out of the ordinary happened- it was a regular day filled with errands, household chores and work where everything just went smoothly. Who knew that could have such a big impact on the overall quality of my day?! It just underscored the fact that the little things really do matter. So, to help inspire you to appreciate the little things, here are some that stood out from my day yesterday.
Ok I know everyone loves their pet, but this guy just makes me so happy. Even when he claims my yoga mat for himself and leaves giant clumps of hair on the corner. He's got such a funny personality and he brightens my day.
The grocery store errand went off without a hitch, which is unusual because often I won't be able to find what I need and will have to go to another store. Not yesterday. I was able to get everything and come home and experiment with this creamy avocado sauce recipe I have had in my head for a few weeks. This time it finally came out right. I love when that happens! (The secret is lots of nutritional yeast to make it "cheesy".)
Later, I watched one of the best movies I've seen in years. It's a French film based on a true story, and online it was called Untouchable, but in the trailer it's called The Intouchables. So I'm not sure which it is, but it's worth the extra effort to find it because it was such a great movie. It's about Philippe, a wealthy quadriplegic who hires Driss, a man fresh out of prison from a poor Parisian neighborhood. Check out the trailer above, and note the crazy resemblance between Philippe and Dustin Hoffman! (PS, If you like foreign films and want to share your favorite in the comments below, I'd love a recommendation.)
