The other day, someone on the Yoga Forum asked for a detailed explanation on how to roll over the toes from upward facing dog to downward facing dog. Well, ask and you shall receive, my friends!
There are four steps to rolling over the toes:
1. PULL the feet forward
2. LIFT the feet up
3. FLIP the feet
4. STEP up the mat an inch or two to clarify your foundation
The video below should give you a little more insight into how it goes down, but essentially the expression "roll over the toes" is a little misleading. We don't actually want to do a full roll because it would put a lot of pressure on the little toe joints. Instead, we want to flip. See what I mean in the video below.
