There's an App for That is a monthly series that features six of our favorite apps on a particular theme. Last month, we discussed travel apps. This month, we're talking meditation.
If you've been following along with the 31 Day Balancing Project's suggested schedule, then congrats. You've not only dedicated yourself to growing your personal asana practice, but your meditation practice as well. To keep the momentum going, we thought we'd share six awesome meditation apps.
1. My Daily Mantra. My Daily Mantra is an alarm, that reminds people to say their mantras aloud. The app is programmed to memorize your mantra and voice, and to hold you more accountable to saying it daily. You pick the mantra you want to say, and the time you want to say it everyday, and the app does the rest.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 7.1 or later.
2. The Mindfulness App, The Mindfulness App is straightforward and simple. Guided meditation sessions can span from 3 to 30 minutes. You can personalize your own meditation session and the app even reminds you when it’s time to meditate, so you can keep up a regular practice.
Cost: $2.99 on iTunes and $1.99 on Android
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Requires Android 2.3.3 and up.
3. Simply Being, a calming voice from the app will guide you through your meditation session. You can pick a session length, choose to have a guide or not, and even add soothing, natural sounds to the end of your meditation session.
Cost: $1.99 on iTunes and $1.99 on Android
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 7.1 or later. Requires Android 3.0 and up.
4. Buddhify. If you’ve ever used the excuse that you can’t meditate because you don’t have the space, buddhify proves you wrong. This app comes with 14 location and activity settings that can help you meditate at any point and in almost any place during the day.
Cost: $4.99 on iTunes
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 7.0 or later. For all those Androiders out there, Buddhify is available for $2.71. Requires Android 4.1 and up.
5. Headspace. Headspace is a fun way to not only track meditation sessions but to motivate you to make time for them. As you progress, you'll unlock achievements. You can also add your friends and check out meditation sessions that are meant for different types of stress relief.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Requires Android 3.0 and up
6. Enso. Ensō is a simple to use meditation timer and bell that you can customize by choosing how much preparation time you'd like and how long you'd like to meditate. You can also set intervals if you choose.
Cost: Free - offers in-app purchases
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Not available on Google Play for Andriod yet - Currently on Alpha Stage.
