It isn't easy moving to a new country where you don't know the language. The simplest errands can turn into the biggest challenges. In an effort to shift perspective, I thought I'd share a few good things each week that are making me happy. I'd like to invite you to do the same, if you'd like to share, down in the comments below. It doesn't have to be something major - after all, it's about the little things, right?
A few days ago I unpacked my juicer from storage and got it up and running, which made me super happy because I love a green juice in the middle of the day. I was also pumped to find these stainless steel straws I had ordered months ago but forgot about until just last week. I know it sounds sort of lame, but they were the best surprise! I love when you buy something, and forget about it. It's like Christmas morning when you stumble upon it again, you know? I like that these straws are reusable and come with a little plunger for easy cleaning. Plus, I think they look cool. :)
Yesterday I saw the picture above on @myqart's instagram, and I thought, "Man, that looks so much like me," and then I realized it was! What a talented artist! See the original photo here in Confessions of a Yoga Teacher: The dark side of yoga.
I'm feeling thankful for all the people who reached out about yesterday's blog post on suicide. It wasn't an easy post to write, and I was nervous to put it out there. I really want to thank the people who left comments on Facebook and the post, and wrote me messages sharing their own experiences and thoughts. I really feel like we're building a little community, and that is the best feeling.
Lastly, a couple months ago I found this Ole Henriksen gift set on super sale and picked it up because I love the brand and hadn't tried any of the products in the set before. I have fallen in love! It smells amazing, and is perfect as a night cream because you wake up with super hydrated skin.
Let me know - what little things are you loving or feeling gratitude for?
