1. Water with Lemon
It's a oldie but goodie, my friends. Water is obviously meant to rehydrate, but the lemon is excellent for replenishing electrolytes to help get me back on my feet faster. I learned something new from my friend the Fairy Gut Mother the other day - do you know how much water we're supposed to drink? According to her (and I trust her with my life, she is super knowledgeable and a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner), we take our weight, divide it by two and that's how many ounces of water we're supposed to drink per day. Whenever I'm really run down I'll aim for a bit more along with some lemon and I find that really helps.
2. Foam roller
It wasn't until recently that I hopped aboard the foam roller wagon but since I got on I've been impressed. It's pretty much like a cheap version of a massage and it can honestly transform my mood from zero to a hundred real quick. It just feels so good. I start on my back with the foam roller under my upper spine. Then I'll do the glutes and hamstrings, and end with the quads. The foam roller breaks up the tightness and leaves me feeling loose.
