There was much internal debate about what to wear for the filming of Sweat (now available for pre-order). My checklist was simple: something form-fitting so viewers could see the subtle yet important movements, something bright to offset the black pants I'd be wearing, and something that would stay put as I moved through the vinyasa.
I wound up choosing the Lululemon Cool Racerback. Here's the run down:
PROS It's well made. You can pull at it, and it doesn't lose its shape. The stitching and material are stretchy so you can move freely without restriction. It is clingy (that's a personal preference, but a definite benefit when shooting an instructional video) but not uncomfortable. And most importantly, it doesn't move when you go upside down (as demonstrated below).
CONS It is a whopping $42.00, which to me seems outrageous considering most of the time I just do yoga in my $1.80 tank tops from Forever21. (I would've worn one of those tanks but they ride up and I constantly have to adjust them. You get what you pay for?)
VERDICT It's great for what it is, but I won't be buying another one just to practice in. Maybe if I make another dvd, but otherwise I think I'll stick to my cheap tank tops.
PS - A review for pants made out of recycled plastic bottles.
